It is the focal point of contact of regional and international conventions, treaties and programs that are relevant to the functions of the Ministry including:

  • Montreal Protocol and its Subsequent Amendments
  • Pacific Islands Framework for Energy Security in the Pacific
  • Secretariat of the Pacific Community
  • Scaling up Renewable Energy Program (SREP) under the World Bank administered Climate Investment Fund (CIF)
  • SIDS DOCK Programs
  • International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

Solomon Islands Government policies in the mines, energy and water sectors incorporate the concerns of the Acts of Parliament and regional and international conventions, treaties and programs and that guide the Ministry’s work.
